READING, Pa. -- There is more trouble for a former school custodian from Reading.
Months after being arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a teenager, police said he's done it again while out on bail.
The custodian was suspended from his job in February after being accused of assaulting a student in school.
Now authorities said he struck again.
Reading police did put Fernando Torres in jail. The courts never thought he could make bail but a relative did post his bail, officials said.
While free on $25,000 bail, police said Torres, 43, then attacked a child.
Torres is now jailed on $200,000 bail and authorities said they hope nobody will post bail for him this time.
Torres was jailed Tuesday by Reading police for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor while he was out on bail for a similar charge.
"After a short investigation, we again arrested Mr. Torres for aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors, sexual assault. This was against a 9-year-old that occurred in the victim's home on Mercer Street in Reading," Reading police Capt. Francis Drexler said.
Torres' first offense happened earlier this year at Reading's Gateway School where he had been custodian since 2006. The alleged student victim was also a minor, according to police.
"Mr. Torres was originally charged back in January 29 of this year for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in the ladies' bathroom," Drexler said.
Torres lived on West Greenwich Street in Reading, above what is a day care center. There's no indication that anything ever happened there. But police said they do believe Torres is too dangerous to be out on the street.
"We're hoping nobody gets him out. Sometimes you have a person that has these types of habits. And we certainly feel they are a threat to society, to the children of our city," Drexler said.
Reading school district officials said Torres was hired as a custodian in March 2006. He is currently suspended without pay pending termination after being accused of assaulting a 9-year-old multiple times in a Reading residence in April. Police said the assaults were just recently reported
