A Bristol Township man who works as a teacher in northwest New Jersey has been charged with stalking and harassing two high school students, New Jersey State Police said.

Richard Naylor, 39, of Garfield Street in Croydon was accused of sending unwanted gifts to the homes of two male students and telling the boys that he wanted to “hurt them like they have hurt him,” according to The Star Ledger in Newark.

Naylor allegedly also hacked into the America Online account of one the boys and sent a false instant message to the boy's girlfriend, dumping her, the newspaper reported.

Police on Monday said Naylor is a typing and word processing teacher at North Warren High School in New Jersey's Warren County near the Delaware Water Gap National Park. He is also a volunteer wrestling coach for the school. The two students Naylor is accused of stalking and/or harassing go to that school. One of the boys is 15, police said.

State police said that Naylor inappropriately communicated with the boys using a cell phone, a computer and in person.

Police said they seized Naylor's computer and officials removed him last week from the high school. Naylor was released from jail after posting his $25,000 bail Jan. 7, promising not to make contact with the two boys and undergo a psychological evaluation, state police said.

The Courier Times was unsuccessful in reaching the school district's board president or attorney.

A man who answered the phone at Richard Naylor's residence said that Naylor wasn't home and referred all calls to Naylor's attorney, Ed Byrne in Chatham, N.J. The Courier Times was unsuccessful in reaching Byrne for comment.
